The Kafanchan Initiative
- 4/5/2011

Dearly Beloved
Nothing in life can ever really prepare us for the loss and suffering that arise from the devastation caused by mayhem. Coming as it does without warning, one cannot begin to imagine how shattering it is and the ordeal the victims have to endure. There are no words that can adequately describe the pain or the feelings of utter hopelessness they experience while trying to rebuild their lives. These are trying times indeed for Christians in Northern Nigeria, especially in the town of Kafanchan, Kaduna state where a lot of them have been rendered homeless in the wake of the post presidential poll violence.
Now more than ever, we must build a bridge of hope, strength and comfort that our Northern brethren can leverage on at times like this. We must be willing to reach out to the sufferers with the love of God and relief materials including, but not limited to medicines, clothing and household items to facilitate their speedy rehabilitation. As the Bible declares in James chapter 1:27 "Pure and undefiled religion before God is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble." I invite you to join in giving generously to The Kafanchan Initiative, a trust set up for the purpose of alleviating the effects of the Kaduna riots on its victims, during any of the 3 services this Sunday, May 8th, 2011. Given the exigencies of your varied concerns, we recognize that a contribution of any size represents a significant sacrifice in these times. We do not take your gift lightly or for granted, yet the relationship we feel privileged to share with you emboldens us to make this request, knowing that you too are of like mind.
Is there not a cause?
