Poesy – Poetry and Music

Vision statement: “To use the beauty and elegance of poetry to communicate the love of God.”

Poesy is one of the new and exciting departments within House on The Rock. The ultimate aim of Poesy is to spread the Gospel through creative expression and we do this using poetry and music, to spread the word of God to the community. Poesy realises that not everybody in the community is able to digest the Word of God easily, so Poesy uses the beauty and elegance of poetry to do just this.

We encourage poets, writers and songwriters to use their creative talents in a positive way to edify the hearts and souls of people, both in the church and within the community.

Poesy hosts regular Poetry and Jazz nights every second month of the year. The events are a mixture of themed nights, including: Cultural Nights, Open Mic nights, The Poetry Slam, Sketches, Comedy and Dance (on selected nights only).
