The Kafanchan Initiative Update
- 10/5/2011
Last Sunday, through the Kafanchan Initiative, we reached out to victims of the post-election crisis in Northern Nigeria, mainly in Kaduna.
As early as 6:30am, people could be seen dropping off relief items ranging from clothes, foods and drinks, household appliances, medication, books, toys, just to mention a few, at the Kafanchan Initiative collection points set up on the MUSON grounds and the Zenith car park opposite.
Church volunteer workers sorted out the items grouping and labeling them appropriately to put in order for dispatch. Cash donations were also collected in all three Sunday services apart from the other materials received at the collection points.
The Kafanchan Initiative is a quick response to the heart felt entreaty made by Pastor Paul Adefarasin for us to support the victims of the recent violent disturbances in Northern Nigeria after the 2011 elections.
